What is Kontext?
Kontext is Black Forest Labs' AI image editing model (part of the Flux family). It lets you modify existing images using natural language descriptions, change backgrounds, edit elements, transfer styles, while preserving the parts you don't want changed.
How is Kontext different from generating a new image?
Kontext starts with YOUR image and modifies it. A new generation creates from scratch. Use Kontext when you have an image that's 80% right and need specific changes, it preserves your original composition and style.
Can I change just one element in an image?
Yes. Kontext is designed for targeted edits. Describe exactly what you want changed and everything else stays the same, background, other objects, lighting, and overall composition are preserved.
What kind of edits can Kontext handle?
Background replacement, element modification, color changes, style transfer, object addition/removal, text editing, clothing changes, environmental adjustments, and more, all through natural language instructions.
How do I edit an image with Kontext on Morphic?
Upload your image, open Copilot, select Kontext, and describe the edit in plain language, 'replace the background with a Tokyo street at night,' for example. Everything you didn't ask to change is preserved.
Does Kontext work on AI-generated images?
Yes. Generate with Flux, Gemini Image, GPT Image, or Seedream, then hand the result to Kontext for targeted edits. It's how creators move from rough generation to polished final image without losing the parts they already like.
