Dolly in on a kitchen reader

A slow dolly in pushes the camera toward a woman in her fifties reading at a kitchen table, the lens unchanged throughout so the room's perspective opens as the camera travels. She turns a page, then looks up just as the camera settles into a close framing. Low winter sun comes through a window to her left across a scarred oak table, a palette of pale grey, warm oak and off white. 35mm, one continuous take. The push is slow and even from first frame to last with no easing at the end. A clean 6 second loop. <pages turning, a radiator ticking>. No music.

Edit prompt

Truck right against a walker

A truck right slides the camera sideways past a row of shopfronts while a woman in a red coat walks left, the two moving in opposite directions so she crosses frame quickly. She glances at a window as she passes, then is gone and the empty shopfronts continue. Overcast afternoon light with warm shop interiors glowing through glass, a palette of wet pavement grey, red wool and sodium yellow. 35mm, one continuous take. The camera holds a constant height and speed and never turns to follow her. A clean 6 second loop. <street ambience, footsteps on wet stone>. No music.

Edit prompt

Slow push in on a waiting man

A very slow push in creeps toward a man sitting alone on a row of moulded plastic chairs, the movement almost imperceptible and never stopping. He is still at first, then rubs his thumb across his knuckles and looks down the empty corridor. Cold fluorescent tubes overhead with one tube flickering further down the hall, a palette of institutional green, grey vinyl and cold white. 50mm, one continuous take. The creep is constant, with no acceleration and no arrival. About 8 seconds. <a fluorescent hum, a distant door>. No music.

Edit prompt

Pan left across a harbour wall

A pan left pivots the camera on its own axis across a harbour wall, the camera body staying in one place so near and far move together with flat parallax and nothing slides past anything else. The pan comes to rest on a fisherman sitting on a crate, who pulls a net taut across his knee and begins to work a tear. Flat morning light off the water with everything slightly cool, a palette of wet granite, faded blue rope and pale sky. 35mm, one continuous take. A single smooth pivot that decelerates gently into its final framing. About 8 seconds. <gulls, water against stone, rope creak>. No music.

Edit prompt

Tilt down from cloud to umbrella

A tilt down rotates the camera from a low grey cloudbase to a woman standing on a pavement below, the camera fixed in place throughout. As the tilt arrives she opens a black umbrella in one motion and the first heavy drops strike it. Flat storm light with one bright gap in the cloud behind her, a palette of slate, wet black and a single pale face. 35mm, one continuous take. One smooth rotation that lands as the umbrella opens. A clean 6 second loop. <rain starting, fabric snapping open>. No music.

Edit prompt

Dutch roll at a level crossing

A dutch roll rotates the camera slowly around its own lens axis so the horizon tips from level to a hard diagonal, with no translation and nothing getting nearer. A freight train enters from the right and runs through frame as the angle steepens, and the roll settles at its steepest as the last wagon clears. Low sun almost head on, flaring off the rails, a palette of rust, gravel grey and hot backlight. 35mm, one continuous take. A slow constant rotation, no shake. A clean 6 second loop. <rail clatter, a horn some way off>. No music.

Edit prompt

Crane down to a library desk

A crane down begins high and wide above a reading room full of long desks, then descends steadily and forward until it settles at eye level on a boy of about twelve at the nearest desk. He looks up from a book as the camera arrives and holds. Tall windows on the left throw long parallel bars of light down the room, a palette of dark oak, dust white and pale gold. 35mm, one continuous take. The descent is smooth and continuous and ends level with his eyes. About 8 seconds. <a page turn, a chair, a cough some way off>. No music.

Edit prompt

Full orbit around a campfire

A full orbit carries the camera once around a campfire at a constant radius, passing behind three seated figures and returning to the exact framing it began on. The fire gutters and lifts as the camera comes round, and one figure leans in to add a branch as the orbit closes. The fire is the only source, faces lit from below, trees falling to black beyond, a palette of ember orange, deep green and black. 35mm, one continuous take. A single unbroken circle at an even speed, ending exactly where it started. A clean 6 second loop. <fire crackle, a branch settling, night insects>. No music.

Edit prompt

Dolly out to a kitchen pass

A dolly out pulls the camera back from a close framing on a chef's hands finishing a plate, retreating steadily to reveal the whole kitchen pass with three more cooks working behind him. He sets the plate down and rings a bell as the wider frame arrives. Hard overhead service lights and a warm heat lamp above the pass, a palette of stainless steel, white porcelain and amber. 35mm, one continuous take. The retreat is smooth and constant, the subject stays centred throughout. About 8 seconds. <a service bell, extraction fans, plates>. No music.

Edit prompt

Pedestal up a bookcase

A pedestal up lifts the camera vertically from the bottom shelf of a tall bookcase to eye level, the lens staying level throughout with no tilt at any point. Spines pass down the frame, and at the top a young man lowers a book and looks straight ahead. A single warm lamp low and to the right throws long shadows between the shelves, a palette of faded cloth bindings, dark walnut and lamp amber. 35mm, one continuous take. The rise is slow and mechanical with no wobble. About 8 seconds. <a page riffle, distant traffic through glass>. No music.

Edit prompt

Tilt up a grain silo

A tilt up rotates the camera from the rusted base of a grain silo all the way to its rim against open sky, the camera body fixed in place so only the angle changes. A flock of starlings lifts off the rim just as the tilt reaches the top. Hard midday sun from behind camera left, corrugated metal catching it in bands, a palette of oxide orange, galvanised grey and hard blue. 35mm, one continuous take. A single continuous rotation with a brief hold at the top. About 8 seconds. <wind across metal, birds lifting>. No music.

Edit prompt

Crane up and over a garden wall

A crane up and over lifts the camera from just below the top of a brick garden wall, rising and moving forward at the same time so the wall passes beneath the lens and a lit garden party opens out beyond it. As the camera clears the wall a woman below raises a glass toward someone off frame. Strings of warm festoon lights against late blue dusk, a palette of dim brick, warm bulb amber and deep blue sky. 35mm, one continuous take. The rise and the forward travel happen together in one unbroken arc. About 8 seconds. <party chatter, glasses, distant music>. No music.

Edit prompt

Half orbit around a potter

A half orbit carries the camera 180 degrees around a potter at a wheel, starting behind her left shoulder and ending square to her face, holding the same distance and height the whole way. The clay rises between her hands as the camera travels and she opens the rim just as the move finishes. One north window to her left with the rest of the studio dim, a palette of wet grey clay, raw timber and cool daylight. 35mm, one continuous take. A constant radius and an even speed with no wobble. About 8 seconds. <a wheel humming, wet clay, water>. No music.

Edit prompt

Truck left past workshop benches

A truck left slides the camera sideways at a constant height, parallel to a row of workshop benches so they pass across frame right to left with strong parallax, and the camera never rotates or turns to follow. A welder at the far bench lowers his mask and strikes an arc just as the camera reaches him. A warm work lamp hangs above each bench and cold daylight falls from a high window, a palette of oxidised steel, amber sparks and hanging dust. 35mm, one continuous take. Constant lateral speed, no rotation, no drift, no zoom. A clean 6 second loop. <workshop hum, one arc strike crackle>. No music.

Edit prompt

Pedestal down to a card table

A pedestal down lowers the camera vertically from just under a hanging lamp to table height, the lens level throughout and never tilting. Four pairs of hands come into frame as the camera arrives, and one of them lays a card face down on the felt. The hanging lamp is the only source, a hard pool of light on green felt with the room falling to black beyond, a palette of deep green, warm brass and near black. 35mm, shallow depth of field, one continuous take. The descent is slow and perfectly vertical. A clean 6 second loop. <cards on felt, a chair creak>. No music.

Edit prompt

Ground level track through grass

An under slung track runs the camera forward a hand's width above the ground, pushing through long grass so the nearest blades tear past the lens in blur while the horizon stays steady. A fox lifts its head at the far edge of the field, holds, then turns and slips away as the camera keeps coming. Low evening sun rakes from the left through the seed heads, a palette of bleached straw, russet and cold blue shadow. 35mm, one continuous take. Strong foreground parallax, constant forward speed. About 8 seconds. <grass against the lens, wind, a distant crow>. No music.

Edit prompt

Pan right with a cyclist

A pan right begins on an empty stretch of bridge railing, holds for a beat, then pivots to follow a cyclist who enters from the left and rides through frame. The camera stays with her, matching her speed, and lets her exit right before settling. Flat white overcast light with the river bright below, a palette of pale concrete, brown water and a single yellow jacket. 35mm, one continuous take. The pivot starts only when she enters and tracks her at an even rate. A clean 6 second loop. <bicycle chain, wind, river traffic>. No music.

Edit prompt

Whip pan from a ringing phone

A whip pan starts locked on an old desk phone ringing on a sideboard, then snaps right in a hard horizontal blur and lands on a man rising from an armchair across the room. He reaches frame, picks up the handset and the ringing stops. A single window behind him blows out to white, the room lit warm from a table lamp, a palette of tobacco brown, cream and window white. 35mm, one continuous take. Two still framings joined by one fast blurred pivot, nothing else moves. About 5 seconds. <a telephone bell, footsteps, a handset lifting>. No music.

Edit prompt

Locked off on a laundrette

A locked off shot holds a laundrette interior with the camera completely still, no push, no pan and no drift at any point. The frame is empty for a beat, then a woman crosses from left to right carrying a basket, loads a machine, and the drum begins to turn as she walks out of frame. Green fluorescent tubes overhead with the street dark beyond the window, a palette of institutional green, white enamel and black glass. 35mm, one continuous take. The camera is fixed, all movement belongs to the subject. About 8 seconds. <tumble dryers, a coin mechanism, a door>. No music.

Edit prompt

Jib arc across a car bonnet

A jib arc swings the camera in a short curve across the bonnet of a parked estate car, the metal filling the lower frame and sliding away as the arc opens onto two mechanics talking beside the raised boot. One of them slams the boot shut just as the arc completes. A single work light on a stand to the right, cold dusk beyond the open shutter door, a palette of dirty white paint, hazard orange and blue evening. 35mm, one continuous take. A curved path, not a straight slide, with constant speed. A clean 6 second loop. <a boot slamming, a socket wrench, low voices>. No music.

How do I use these camera movement prompts?
Pick any prompt, copy it, and paste it into Morphic. Each one names the move in its opening words, so the model reads the movement before it reads the scene. Change the subject and the move survives.
Why does my camera drift instead of doing the move I asked for?
Because the move was described as a feeling rather than a mechanism. Name the move, then say what the camera body does and what it must not do: "slides left at a constant height, never rotating" gets a truck, "moves around" gets a drift.
What is the difference between a pan and a truck?
A pan rotates the camera on the spot, so the background slides but nothing changes position relative to anything else. A truck moves the whole camera sideways, so near objects pass faster than far ones. Ask for that parallax by name and you will see which one you got.
How long should a camera move be?
Long enough to finish. A six second clip holds one complete move; a move that is still travelling when the clip ends reads as a mistake. If a move needs more room, say ten seconds and give it a clear end position.
Can I use the videos commercially?
The prompts here describe original scenes and fictional subjects, so what you generate is yours to use. Avoid prompting for real logos, trademarks, or a living person's likeness, and keep your final use in line with Morphic's terms.
