How do I draw salad leaves so they do not look flat?
Ask for ruffled edges and leaves overlapping at different angles, with a couple curling toward the viewer. A salad reads as depth and rhythm more than as individual leaves, so the overlap does most of the work.

Ask for a plain white background with no table, cloth or shadow, then remove the background in your editor or crop it tight on the Canvas. Keeping the bowl silhouette clean makes the cut out simple.
How do I make a salad icon that works at small sizes?
