Macro photograph of a hoverfly head filling the frame with its compound eye facets resolved, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Compound eye of a hoverfly

Macro photograph at roughly three times life size. The head of a hoverfly filling the frame, with the individual hexagonal facets of the near side of the compound eye rendered completely sharp and the far side of the head already falling out of focus. Soft diffused light from directly above through a small diffuser. Background is a leaf around thirty centimetres behind, rendering as a smooth green wash. Palette of amber and bronze eye against soft green. Real facet geometry, fine head bristles, a speck of pollen on the face, 4:5.

Raindrop on a damselfly wing

Macro photograph at three times life size. A single raindrop resting on the outstretched wing of a damselfly at rest, the drop acting as a lens so the fine wing venation directly beneath it appears magnified and slightly displaced compared with the veins around it. Focus on the drop and the venation under it. Overcast morning light. Background a wash of reed green well behind. Palette of clear water, smoky wing and soft green. Real wing membrane iridescence at the edge, 4:3.

Green light filtering from above. Focus on the bubble surface. Palette of silver bubble against deep green water. Real fine algae fuzz on the frond, small particles suspended in the water, 3:4.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of a dandelion seed head with several seeds already detaching, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Seed head about to release

Macro photograph at twice life size. A dandelion seed head that has already begun to break up, several seeds missing so the bare receptacle shows through in patches, and two seeds caught mid-detachment just clear of the head with their parachutes fully open. Backlit by low sun so every filament glows. Focus on the near seeds still attached. Dark shaded background well behind. Palette of white filament against near-black with warm rim light. Real filament separation, a small insect on the receptacle, 4:5.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of a bumblebee extending its tongue into a foxglove throat, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Bee tongue at a foxglove

Edit prompt
Macro photograph looking down into a tulip at the stamens with pollen on the anthers, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Stamens inside a tulip

Macro photograph at life size, looking straight down into an open tulip. Six stamens standing around the central pistil, their anthers split and already shedding, with loose dark pollen grains scattered on the inner petal surface below and a few caught on the filament. Focus falls exactly on the near anther. Soft window light from one side. Palette of deep magenta petal, near-black pollen and pale green pistil. Real petal cell texture, a faint sheen of moisture at the base, 1:1.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of a fluorite crystal cleavage face showing internal colour banding, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Cleavage face of a fluorite

Macro photograph at twice life size. The cleavage face of a fluorite crystal with light passing through it from behind and slightly below, so the internal colour banding of purple and green shows as soft layers within the stone rather than as surface colour. A single stepped fracture runs across the near face and is the sharpest thing in frame. Dark surround. Palette of violet through sea green against black. Real conchoidal fracture texture, tiny internal inclusions and a fingerprint on one facet, 5:4.

Edit prompt
Square macro photograph of a frayed denim edge showing the warp and weft threads separating, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Weave of a worn denim edge

Square macro photograph at four times life size. The frayed edge of a worn denim seam where the cloth has given way, the indigo-dyed warp threads still running in parallel and the undyed white weft threads pulling loose and curling away from them. Focus on the plane where the fray begins. Raking light from the right so each thread casts a small shadow on its neighbour. Palette of faded indigo and cream against dark shadow. Real fibre twist visible in each thread, worn white at the fold, 1:1.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of green verdigris crusting across a copper surface in raking light, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Verdigris spreading on copper

Macro photograph at twice life size. A copper surface where verdigris has crusted across roughly two thirds of the frame and stops in a ragged frontier, leaving bare warm copper still showing on the remaining third with fine polishing scratches in it. Raking light from the left so the crust has real relief and casts small shadows. Focus on the boundary itself. Palette of pale green crust against warm copper. Real crystalline crust texture, one flake lifted and about to detach, 5:4.

Edit prompt
Wide macro photograph of a row of solder joints on an old circuit board with flux residue, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Solder joints on a circuit board

Wide macro photograph at four times life size. A row of solder joints along the underside of an old green circuit board, each a small bright dome around a clipped component leg, with amber dried flux residue pooled around several of them and a slight brown heat discolouration on the board itself. Raking light from the right so each dome carries one hard specular. Focus on the third joint from the left. Palette of dull silver solder, board green and amber residue. Real solder surface pitting, one dry joint with a visible crack, 16:9.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of coarse sugar crystals resting on the drupelets of a single raspberry, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Sugar crystals on a raspberry

Macro photograph at three times life size. A single raspberry filling most of the frame, its individual drupelets clearly distinct and each carrying a few fine pale hairs, with coarse sugar crystals scattered across the top catching light like small prisms. The surface below still shows the ring wave spreading out. Focus on the near rim of the crown. Palette of pure white liquid against a deep teal background. Real liquid surface tension curvature, a fine spray of satellite droplets, 1:1.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of the torn face of a sourdough loaf showing open irregular crumb, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Crumb structure of a torn loaf

Macro photograph at twice life size. The torn face of a sourdough loaf, the crumb open and very irregular with holes of wildly different sizes, and fine gluten strands still stretched across several of the larger holes where the bread was pulled apart. Warm side light from the left rakes into the holes so they read as real depth. Focus on the near edge of the tear. Palette of pale cream crumb, dark burnished crust and deep shadow. Real gluten sheen inside the holes, a dusting of flour on the crust, 4:5.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of dew drops sitting on the radiating pleats of a lupin leaf, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Dew held on a lupin leaf

Macro photograph at life size. A lupin leaf shot from just above, its pleated segments radiating from the centre, each channel holding a line of dew drops of different sizes with one large drop sitting at the junction. Every drop carries a tiny inverted image of the bright sky. Focus on the central drop and the nearest two channels. Soft dawn light. Palette of deep blue-green leaf and silver water. Real leaf hair fringe at the edges, surface tension bulge on each drop, 3:4.

Edit prompt
Vertical macro photograph of a fern crozier tightly curled and covered in fine scales, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Vertical macro photograph of a metal zip at the exact point where the teeth interlock, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Zip teeth meeting

Vertical macro photograph at four times life size. A metal zip photographed at the exact point where two rows of brass teeth come together, open below and closed above, with the slider cropped out of the top of the frame. The tape either side is dark cotton showing its weave. Raking light from the left gives each tooth a highlight and a shadow. Focus on the first three closed teeth. Palette of warm brass against near-black tape. Real brass wear polish on the leading faces, a loose thread across one tooth, 9:16.

Edit prompt
Macro photograph of individual sand grains showing they are different minerals and shapes, generated with Flux 2 Pro

Sand grains under magnification

Macro photograph at eight times life size. A small group of sand grains magnified far enough that each is clearly a different mineral, some clear quartz, some black volcanic, some rounded pink shell fragment, all of different shapes and none matching. Focus falls on the central three grains and the rest fall away fast. Soft light from above with a little from the side. Palette of clear, black, pink and honey against dark. Real grain edge wear and internal fracture in the quartz, 4:3.

الأسئلة الشائعة

How do I use these macro photography prompts?
Copy a prompt, paste it into Morphic with Flux 2 Pro selected, and run it as written. Then change the subject and keep the clauses about magnification and where the focus falls, because at this range the decision about which single millimetre is sharp is the composition, in a way it never is at normal distances.
Why is this library built for Flux 2 Pro?
Macro is entirely a question of resolved detail, and Flux 2 Pro is the photorealistic and sharp tier at three credits an image. The more expensive flagships carry the same declared strength without adding anything a close-up needs, so the saving goes into being able to run forty of these rather than fifteen.
Why does everything except a tiny sliver come out blurred?
Because that is what really happens at high magnification, where depth of field can be well under a millimetre. It is worth using rather than fighting. Every prompt here names the exact plane that must be sharp, an eye, a stamen tip, one thread, and lets the rest fall away. If you want more in focus, say the image is focus stacked and name the near and far limits.
How do I get a clean background at this distance?
Put real distance behind the subject and name it. A background thirty centimetres back renders as a smooth wash of colour on its own, without any need to describe a studio backdrop. Naming a colour for that distant material is usually enough to control the whole mood of the frame.
Are these all in colour on purpose?
Yes. The black and white photography library already covers the monochrome grade in depth, so every prompt here names a colour relationship instead, usually a saturated subject against a complementary wash. That keeps the two libraries doing different jobs rather than teaching the same conversion twice.
