Hello sound effects

Greetings for film, games, and animation

Warm greeting

Open and friendly with a gentle rise and a soft landing. The default, and the one that reads as somebody pleased to see you.

Flat greeting

Even in pitch with no warmth and a hard stop. The absence of a rise at the end is what makes it read as unwelcoming.

Phone answer

Slightly clipped and lifted at the end, the way people answer a call. Pairs with a ring so the scene starts mid-conversation.

Call into an empty room

Lifted and questioning, thrown into a large space. Useful precisely because nothing answers it.

Sing-song

Two notes with the second lower, bright and teasing. Reads as somebody announcing themselves rather than greeting you.

A room greeting someone

Many voices on one word, each a fraction apart. Describe the stagger or it returns as a single thick voice.

Ways to use a hello sound effect

Fill an empty space without music

A call thrown into a large room and left unanswered holds several seconds of nothing, and the silence after does the work.

Tell the audience how welcome this person is

A warm rise reads as pleased. The same word flat with a hard stop reads as the opposite, and nothing in the picture has to change.

Put a room of people off camera

Many staggered voices greeting someone fills a space around one face, so a party exists without extras in shot.

الأسئلة الشائعة

How do I change a greeting from warm to cold?
Work on the end of the word. A gentle rise with a soft landing reads as friendly; the same word held even in pitch and stopped abruptly reads as unwelcoming. The words are identical.
How do I get a greeting that sounds like a phone call?
Ask for it spoken briskly with a small questioning lift at the end. That combination of speed and uncertainty is exactly how people answer a call, and it separates it from greeting someone in a room.
Can I get a female or older voice?
Yes. Change the description at the front of the prompt and keep the delivery notes, since the shape of the word is what carries the meaning rather than the voice.
Why does my call into an empty room sound close?
The space was not in the prompt. This is the one card here where a large space belongs, so say "calling out into a large empty space" and leave the dry-and-close instruction off this clip only.
How do I get a group rather than one voice?
Ask for many separate voices each starting a fraction apart at different pitches. Prompting a group as one event returns a single thick voice instead of a room.
Can I use these in a commercial project?
Yes. Audio generated on a paid Morphic plan is cleared for commercial use, including games, film, and advertising.
