Metronome

The dry wooden tick of a wind-up pendulum, a digital click with an accent on the first count, and a small bell at the top of each bar. Describe the metronome you need and Morphic generates it clean.

  • A wooden wind-up, a digital click or a tick with a bell on the first count
  • A steady tick made for your piano lesson or practice room
  • Clean, isolated audio with no instrument bleeding into it

Metronome sounds for games, animation, and video edits

Wind-up metronome ticking

A crisp dry tick with a hollow wooden body, the classic sound for a practice scene or a ticking deadline.

Electronic click

A short high beep on each count with an accent on the first, the clean modern click for a lesson video.

Tick with a bell

Three dry ticks then a small bell ding, the old mechanical sound that marks the top of every bar.

Speeding up

Crisp ticks crowding closer together, the take for rising pressure, a countdown or a heart racing in a scene.

Running down

Ticks slowing, faltering and stopping, the sound of a spring giving out at the end of a long session.

Winding the key

A tight ratcheting click on each turn then the first tick, the small ritual before a performance begins.

Ways to use a metronome sound effect

End a scene on the very last tick

A spring running down to a stop gives a long practice or a failed attempt its final full stop, in a short film, an animated piece or a game.

Hold a quiet practice scene with no score

A steady wooden tick carries a long, wordless shot of hands at a keyboard, holding a video, a game cutscene or a podcast segment together.

Put the viewer in a strict piano lesson

Ticks with a bell on the first count tell the audience it is a teacher, a parlour and an old upright, in film, games or audio drama.

الأسئلة الشائعة

What is a metronome sound effect?
It is a recording of a metronome keeping time, ticking, clicking or ringing a bell on the first count, used to place one in a scene. A wooden wind-up model has a dry hollow tick that a digital one lacks, so the type you pick tells the audience whether the scene is old-fashioned or modern.
Where can I get metronome sounds for a video?
Generate them. Describing the take you want is quicker than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact type, texture and pace your scene needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt beside it, so you can start from one and change the wording.
How do I make a custom metronome sound effect?
Describe the metronome, the sound of each tick and how the pace behaves, then generate it. A prompt like "a wooden wind-up metronome ticking at a steady moderate pace, a crisp dry tick" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a mechanical, an electronic and a bell metronome?
A mechanical metronome is a wound spring and a swinging pendulum, with a dry wooden tick. An electronic metronome produces a short tone or click, very even, often with a higher accent on the first count. A bell metronome is a mechanical one with a small bell that rings at the start of each bar.
Can I use these metronome sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my metronome sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the ticks do not line up with the pendulum on screen. The ear expects a tick each time the arm reaches the end of its swing, so a few frames out reads as wrong at once. Slip the clip until one tick lands on a swing, and pick a pace close to what the picture shows.
