Ostrich

The deep hollow boom of a male ostrich, the sharp hiss of a bird on guard and the heavy thud of two-toed feet at a sprint. Describe the ostrich your scene needs and Morphic generates it clean.

  • A male boom, a warning hiss or a full sprint, exactly as asked
  • A boom built for your bird striding across the open savanna
  • Clean, isolated audio to drop under the bird, the stampede or the cartoon chase

Ostrich sounds for games, animation, and video edits

Male boom

The deep hollow boom a male makes from his inflated neck, the most distinctive ostrich call for a wildlife scene.

Warning hiss

A sharp open-beaked hiss, the sound of a bird defending its nest or squaring up to whoever came too close.

Running ostrich

Heavy, fast two-toed strides, for a chase, a stampede or a large bird tearing across the frame in a cartoon.

Grunts and snorts

Short throaty huffs and a low rattle, the everyday sounds of an ostrich close up at a farm or in a pen.

Wing display

Big feathered wings shaken out in a loud rustling whoosh, for a courtship dance, a threat display or a dust-up.

Beak pecking

Hard, quick beak taps on wood, for feeding time, a curious bird at a window or a comic peck on a car roof.

الأسئلة الشائعة

What sound does an ostrich make?
An adult ostrich does not sing or chirp. Males make a deep hollow boom by inflating the neck, and both sexes hiss, grunt and snort when alarmed or annoyed. Because the bird is so heavy, its running stride and wing shakes are recognisable sounds too.
Where can I get ostrich sounds for a video?
Generate them from a prompt. Describing the call you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and the exact ostrich behaviour your scene needs is generated for you. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom ostrich sound effect?
Describe the behaviour, the number of calls and how deep or sharp they are, then generate it. A prompt like "a male ostrich booming, a deep hollow low call, three booms with a clear gap between each" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between an ostrich boom, hiss and grunt?
A boom is the deep, resonant call a male makes to claim territory or court a mate, low enough to be mistaken for a big cat. A hiss is a sharp breathy warning with the beak open, and a grunt is a short throaty huff the bird makes up close. Pick the boom for scale, the hiss for threat and the grunt for close, everyday moments.
Can I use these ostrich sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my ostrich sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the call does not match what the bird is doing on screen. A boom needs a visibly swelling neck and a hiss needs an open beak, so line the sound up with that movement. If the bird is far away in the shot, lower the level and roll off some of the low end so the boom sounds distant.
