Perguntas frequentes
What is a gagging sound effect?
It is a short vocal reflex where the throat closes on something nasty, such as a dry gag at a smell or a choked ack after a bad bite. It is a gross-out comedy staple for prank videos, taste tests, cartoons and games.
Where can I get gagging sounds for a video?
Generate the gag from a short prompt. You can name the cause, a smell, a bite or a drink gone wrong, and get a take shaped for it in one go. Every clip on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so copy one and adjust it to your shot.
How do I make a custom gagging sound effect?
Write the gag as a sound, such as hck or hurrk, and open with a bracket tag for the cause, like [dry gag, disgusted] or [muffled gag, behind hand]. Generate it, then make the tag bigger or smaller to match how gross the moment is.
What is the difference between a gag, a retch and a choking cough?
A gag is a quick reflex catch in the throat with nothing behind it. A retch or heave is bigger and pushes from the stomach. A choking cough is a sputter to clear the airway, often after a drink goes down the wrong way.
Can I use these gagging sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my gag sound feel too real for a comedy clip?
Comedy gags read best a little exaggerated and short. Add playful or cartoonish to the bracket, keep the take dry, and cut straight to the reaction so the laugh comes before anyone feels queasy.
