What is object drawing?
Object drawing is drawing real everyday objects, such as pots, bottles, fruit and books, arranged as a still life. It trains proportion, form and shading, and is a common part of school art exams.
How do I start an object drawing?
Break each object into a basic form, such as a cylinder, sphere, cube or cone. Draw those lightly, check the proportions against each other, then refine the outlines.
How do I shade an object drawing?
Choose one light direction and keep it for every object. Shade the side away from the light, add a darker core shadow, a cast shadow on the table, and a little reflected light at the edge.
What are easy objects to draw?

How do I arrange objects for a still life?
