How do I draw an atom so the orbits look three-dimensional?
Draw each orbit as an ellipse rather than a circle, tilt them at different angles, and break the line of one where another passes in front. That single overlap does more for the depth than shading ever will.
How many electrons and orbits should an atom drawing show?
