How do I draw a castle that looks solid?
Name the viewing angle and the stone. A castle seen from slightly below with hatched blocks and a consistent light direction reads as heavy masonry, while a flat front view reads as a symbol.
How do I draw a simple castle for a child?
Ask for bold even outlines, three or four towers with cone roofs, and large open shapes with no shading. That version prints cleanly and is easy to colour in.
Can I get the perspective right on a castle drawing?
Say two-point perspective and name the corner you want facing the viewer. Asking for construction lines to stay visible gives you a working sketch you can study rather than a finished render.
How do I draw stone texture without it looking flat?
Vary the block size and leave some courses less detailed than others. Hatching that gets denser in the shadowed half of a tower does more for the stone than drawing every block the same.
