Punctuate a cut with something bleak
A sharp caw has a fast attack and lands where you put it. It carries desolation instantly, which few short sounds manage.

Crow sound effects
Sharp caws, a whole roost of them, and the rattle crows make when they are not calling. Name the one you need and Morphic generates it clean.
- Name the call, how many birds, and how far off they are
- A caw made for your frame, not the clip in every bleak shot
- Clean audio that sits over a cold exterior
Crow sounds for film, games, and horror edits
Sharp caw
0:04Three bright, rasping calls evenly spaced. The brightness is what separates a crow from a raven, and crows almost always call in threes.
Roost of crows
0:06Many birds at uneven intervals and different distances. The irregularity is what makes a roost sound alive rather than sampled.
Alarm mobbing
0:05Fast overlapping calls with no gaps. Crows do this when something is wrong, so it makes an audience uneasy before anything appears.
Rattle
0:03A dry knocking rattle rather than a caw at all. Odd enough that most people cannot identify it, which is exactly why it is useful.
Wingbeats
0:04Heavy, slow, and dry, with an audible feather rustle. Crows are big enough that you hear them leave, which small birds never give you.
Distant caws
0:05The same calls from across open fields, softened at the top. Distance turns a bird into a sense of emptiness rather than a presence.

Ways to use crow sound effects
Let distant birds hold an empty field
Far-off caws give a wide, still shot something to rest on. It works in a game level or an animated sequence as much as over live action.

Say the weather has turned cold
A roost calling over bare ground reads as late autumn or winter. Crows are one of the few birds still noisy when everything else has gone quiet.

Warn the audience about something unseen
Mobbing calls tell them the birds have found something they have not. It builds dread with nothing in frame at all.

الأسئلة الشائعة
What is the difference between a crow and a raven sound?
Pitch and texture. A crow caws bright and harsh, usually in threes, while a raven produces a lower, hoarser croak with more gravel in it. If a generated crow sounds too deep, the prompt is missing an instruction to keep it bright.
Why do crows always sound ominous on screen?
Because they are one of the few birds still calling in bare, cold landscapes, so an audience associates them with places where everything else has gone. The harsh, unmusical texture does the rest, since there is nothing pleasant in the sound to soften it.
What is a crow rattle?
A dry knocking series with no vocal tone, quite unlike a caw. Most people cannot identify it, which makes it useful when you want something present and unsettling in a scene without the audience naming the source.
How do I build a roost rather than one bird?
Ask for many crows at different distances calling at an uneven, irregular rate. The irregularity matters more than the number: evenly spaced calls read as a repeated sample rather than a group of live birds.
How do I make crows sound far away?
Soften the harsh edge and add a slight tail to each call. Distance strips the bright top end first, so a far-off caw is rounder and less abrasive, and that change reads as distance far better than simply lowering the level.
Can I use these crow sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each call is generated rather than pulled from a shared catalogue, you also avoid the clip already sitting over a hundred other bleak exteriors.
