Royalty-free sound effects

The six sounds nearly every edit reaches for, cleared for commercial use with no per-use fee and no credit line: a whoosh, an impact, a riser, a chime, a shutter, a keyboard.

  • Describe the exact sound your cut needs instead of hunting a library for something close
  • Cleared for commercial use, with no per-use fee, no attribution line, and no third-party claim to clear
  • Download clean audio and drop it straight into your edit

Cleared sounds for film, games, and client work

Transition whoosh

A smooth rush of air with a soft start and a quick tail. The most-used sound in any edit, because it covers a cut and gives it direction at the same time.

Cinematic impact

A hard low hit with a bright metallic edge on the attack. Use it on a title card, a reveal, or the frame you want the audience to remember.

Tension riser

A steady climb in pitch and volume with no break in it. Run it into a cut and the cut lands harder than the picture alone would make it.

Notification chime

Two clean bell-like tones rising in pitch with a short ring after them. Sized for an app demo or an on-screen message rather than a real phone.

Camera shutter

The mechanical clack of a mirror and shutter in one quick action. A small sound that does a lot of work in a montage or a product video.

Keyboard typing

A run of separate key presses at an uneven human rhythm. Use it under a screen recording or anywhere someone is working that you never cut to.

Ways to use royalty-free sound effects

Punctuate a cut or a title card

An impact on the frame you want remembered does what a music sting would, without committing the scene to a track. The same in a game trailer as in a film.

Fill a quiet stretch without music

Typing under a screen recording gives a silent sequence a floor, so a demo or a tutorial holds attention without a bed running the whole way through.

Build to a moment the picture has not reached yet

A riser tells the audience something is coming several seconds before it does, which is how a slow sequence keeps its grip.

Imply a device the camera never shows

A chime or a shutter puts a phone or a camera in someone hands without a cutaway, which keeps the scene on the face that matters.

الأسئلة الشائعة

What does royalty-free actually mean here?
You pay for the generation, not for each time the sound is used. Audio generated on a paid Morphic plan is cleared for commercial use with no per-use fee, no attribution line, and nobody else holding a claim on the recording.
Can I use these sounds in a client project or an ad?
Yes. Commercial use covers client work, advertising, broadcast, games, and apps. Because the audio is generated for you rather than licensed from a catalogue, there is no library term to read and no per-project renewal.
Do I need to credit Morphic?
No. There is no attribution requirement on audio generated on a paid plan, which is the part most stock libraries get wrong for anyone shipping a broadcast package or a game.
How is this different from downloading from a stock library?
A stock clip is a fixed recording that is also in everyone else project. Here you describe the sound you need, so the length, the weight, and the character match the cut, and the result is not already under a thousand other videos.
Why does my sound come back almost silent?
It was asked for too short. Durations under about a second and a half tend to return empty, so ask for 1.5 seconds and trim it in your editor. Adding "crisp and clearly audible" to the prompt helps as well.
Where do I find sounds beyond these six?
The sound library indexes the rest by topic, animals, weather, interfaces, horror, vehicles, and more. This page carries the cross-section most edits need; the hub carries everything else.
