الأسئلة الشائعة
What is a waterphone sound effect?
It is the sound of a waterphone, an acoustic instrument made of a steel bowl and a ring of bronze rods with a little water inside. Bowed or struck, it gives a wavering metallic moan whose pitch bends as the water moves, which is why horror and thriller soundtracks reach for it so often.
Where can I get waterphone sounds for a video?
Generate them from a prompt. Describing the waterphone and how it is played takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact sound your shot needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom waterphone sound effect?
Describe how the instrument is played and how the note moves, then generate it. A prompt like "a waterphone bowed slowly on its bronze rods, a wavering metallic moan that bends in pitch" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a waterphone, a horror drone and a bowed cymbal?
A waterphone has a clear metallic note that wavers and bends because of the water in its bowl. A horror drone is a long, steady low tone, often synthetic, that sits under a scene without any single note standing out. A bowed cymbal gives a brighter, harsher shimmer with no pitch bend at all.
Can I use these waterphone sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my waterphone sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually it is too loud and too early, so the audience hears an instrument. Bring a waterphone in low under the picture and let it rise slowly, keep the harsh clashing rods for the single moment of a scare, and leave space after it so the ring can fade on its own.
