How do I draw a bunny that looks soft rather than stiff?
Fur direction does the work. Ask for short strokes that follow the body contour, denser under the chin and along the flank, and for a slightly broken outline instead of one hard line all the way round.
What ear position should a bunny drawing use?
Upright ears read alert and suit a cartoon, half-back ears read relaxed and suit a resting study, and ears flat along the back read startled. Say which one you want, since the pose changes with it.
How do I get a cute cartoon bunny rather than a realistic one?
Ask for a shape built from circles, a thick even outline, two or three flat colours, and a small triangular nose. Naming the construction shapes is what pushes the drawing towards cartoon.
