Energy

Energy blasts, a plasma bolt snapping from a barrel, a beam crackling through the air and a core humming with power. Describe the energy sound your scene needs and Morphic generates it clean, from a zap to an overload.

  • Plasma bolts, beams, barrier hits and overloads, the energy sound you put in words
  • The reactor core your crew races to shut down in act two, powered for that scene
  • Isolated energy audio with no score behind it, ready for a shooter or a trailer

Energy sounds for games, animation, and video edits

Plasma bolt shot

A sharp crackling zap with a sizzling tail, for a sci-fi pistol, a turret, a spell bolt or a hero firing a shot.

Barrier deflect

A bright electric thump with a warbling shimmer, for an energy shield catching a shot or a bolt glancing off armour.

Energy beam stream

A thick crackling roar with a whining edge, for a beam weapon held on target, a mining laser or a tractor beam.

Pulse wave burst

A deep whoom with a crackling ring that spreads out, for an energy wave, an EMP or a power surge knocking out lights.

Power core hum

A deep electric drone with flickering arcs, for a reactor room, a ship engine bay or a glowing artefact on a plinth.

Overload explosion

Crackling sparks building fast to a bright electric blast, for a core going critical, a shorting weapon or a finale.

Ways to use an energy sound effect

Land the hit when the hero fires a bolt

One plasma bolt on the frame the hero fires gives the shot its punch, in a sci-fi film, a shooter game, an animated series or a trailer.

Hold a reactor room scene with no music

A power core humming and crackling fills a long walk through the engine bay with no score, in sci-fi video, games and audio drama.

Set up a world of energy weapons in one shot

A crackling energy beam over the first wide shot of a battle tells viewers what kind of future this is, in films, games and animation.

Hint at a battle beyond the blast doors

Bolts hitting a barrier from off screen tell the audience a fight is happening next door, in sci-fi shows, games and radio, unseen.

Perguntas frequentes

What is an energy sound effect?
An energy sound effect is the sci-fi sound of power being used: bolts, beams, shockwaves, shield hits and humming cores. Since none of it exists, the crackle, sizzle and pitch you choose tell the audience how strong and how dangerous the energy is.
Where can I get energy sounds for a video?
Generate them on Morphic by describing what the energy does. Every sound here began as the prompt printed beside it, so choose the closest one and make it bigger, hotter, more electric or longer.
How do I make a custom energy sound effect?
Describe the form the energy takes and its texture. A prompt like "a sci-fi plasma bolt fired, a sharp crackling zap with a hot sizzling tail" works, and swapping bolt for beam or shockwave gives you a new weapon.
What is the difference between an energy blast and an energy charge?
A charge is the build-up, a rising whine as power gathers before anything happens. A blast is the release, the zap, bolt or shockwave that follows, so most scenes pair a short charge with a blast, and most clips on this page are the release.
Can I use these energy sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my energy sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the size of the sound does not match the flash on screen. A small blue bolt needs a tight zap while a huge beam needs low rumble and a long tail, so scale the weight to the effect and keep the crackle above any score.
