How do I shoot a standoff without it being declined?
Put the figures in silhouette. Backlight them hard against a window so both faces read as black shapes, and the whole beat becomes a composition rather than a close study of someone under threat. The action stays completely legible, the tension survives, and the shot generates where the same scene in close-up does not.
Can I cut several of these clips into one sequence?
