Preguntas frecuentes
What is a cartoon falling sound effect?
Cartoon falling sounds are the comic effects animators use for a drop: a slide whistle gliding down in pitch, then a thud, splat or bounce when the character lands. The pitch falling with the character is what makes the gag read instantly.
Where can I get cartoon falling sounds for a video?
Write the fall on Morphic, whistle length and landing included, and it generates the gag for you. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom cartoon falling sound effect?
Describe the whistle, how long the drop lasts and what the landing sounds like, then generate it. A prompt like "a descending slide whistle falling in pitch, then a heavy comic thud" gives Morphic enough to work with.
What is the difference between a cartoon fall, a slip and a jump?
A cartoon fall uses a whistle going down and a landing at the end. A slip starts with a skid and a quick upward whistle as the feet go out. A jump goes the other way, with a springy boing or a rising whistle as the character takes off.
Can I use these cartoon falling sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my cartoon falling sound not sit right in the edit?
The whistle has to finish exactly when the character hits the ground, or the gag feels late. Trim the whistle so it ends on the impact frame, and let the thud or splat be the loudest moment of the clip.
