Preguntas frecuentes
What is an ominous sound effect?
It is a low, slow cue that tells the audience something bad is coming: a drone, a heavy hit, a scrape or a rising swell. It works through pitch and duration rather than melody.
Where can I get ominous sounds for a video?
Describe the dread cue and generate it. The six sounds here each come from the prompt printed beside them, so you can change the pitch or the texture to fit your scene.
How do I make a custom ominous sound effect?
Name the source and its pitch, then how it develops. "A continuous low sub-bass drone, slowly swelling and unbroken" gives Morphic enough to build it.
What is the difference between a drone, a hit and a swell?
A drone is held and sets a mood, a hit is a single impact that marks a moment, and a swell climbs to a peak and releases. Using one of each shapes tension across a scene.
Can I use these ominous sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Each cue is generated for you, so it is not the stinger other trailers use.
Why does my ominous sound feel cheesy?
It is probably too loud and too obvious. Lower the pitch, ask for something slow and unbroken, and leave space around it instead of stacking cues.
