Land the instant the ribbon parts
One decisive snip marks the moment a coupon, a ribbon or a lock of hair gives way, the payoff of a craft tutorial or a barbershop opening title.

Scissors
Every way scissors cut, ready to play: a single clean snip, a run of rapid clips, the crunch of fabric, and the bare metallic clack of the blades. Describe the one your scene needs and Morphic generates it in seconds.
- Blade-close detail: the pivot click, the shear of the cut, the small rasp as the handles open again
- Cut for your scene alone, not a snip a thousand other projects have already used
- High-resolution audio that drops into Premiere, Resolve or a game engine without a cleanup pass
Scissors sounds for animation, games, and video edits
Single snip
One clean close of the blades with the pivot click intact, the take to use when a single cut has to land on a specific frame.
Rapid clips
Fast repeated snipping, the way barbers idle their shears; useful under a montage or to suggest impatient, practised hands.
Fabric cut
Sharp steel drawing through cloth, the fibres parting in a soft tearing rush, for dressmaking, upholstery and costume scenes.
Blades in air
Shears opening and closing on nothing, all metal and no material, good for menace, nerves or a character fidgeting.
Hair snip
A thin, bright crackle of fine hair cut close to the ear, intimate enough for a salon close-up or a self-cut confession scene.
Long cut
A slow travelling slice down a length of paper or card, the blades singing as they run, great for reveals and unhurried craft work.

Ways to use a scissors sound effect
When a quiet workspace needs something happening
A patient rhythm of clips carries a montage or a podcast interlude through stretches where nobody speaks and the picture is only hands working.

The hum of a tailor's back room
Steady shearing under dialogue paints a tailoring studio or a salon, letting the room feel occupied while the conversation stays front and centre.

Someone is cutting just off camera
A snip drifting in from another room hints at a haircut, a cut rope or a gardener at work while your camera stays on the listener's face.

Preguntas frecuentes
What is a scissors sound effect?
It is the sound scissors make as the blades cut, ranging from a single bright snip to a long dragging slice. On screen it does a lot with very little: it lands a cut, sets a salon or a workshop, and tells the audience the material from the way the blades bite through it.
Where can I get a scissors sound for a video?
Generate one rather than search for it. Describing the cut you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact material and pace your scene needs instead of the closest available clip. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom scissors sound effect?
Describe the scissors, what they cut, and how many times, then generate it. A prompt like "one clean snip of steel scissors cutting through paper" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until the cut fits your cut.
What is the difference between a snip, a clip, and a fabric cut?
A snip is one short bright cut through something thin, a clip is a run of fast snips, and a fabric cut is a longer dragging crunch as the blades push through cloth. Picking the wrong one is the most common reason a scissors sound feels off, because each carries a different material and pace.
Can I use these scissors sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated rather than pulled from a shared library, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my scissors sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the material is wrong rather than the timing. A bright paper snip laid under a shot of scissors cutting fabric reads as fake, because the ear expects the crunch of cloth. Say what the blades are cutting when you generate it, and the sound sits in the scene with far less mixing.
