Hit the moment the board locks onto the rail
A sharp clank on the exact frame of contact makes a trick feel real and heavy, in a skate edit, a sports game or an animated short.

Skateboard rail grind
The harsh metallic scrape of trucks grinding a steel rail, the woody rasp of a boardslide and the clank of a board locking onto the rail. Describe the grind your clip needs and Morphic generates it clean.
- Trucks on a steel handrail, a deck on a rail or a concrete ledge grind, as you describe it
- A scrape timed to your street clip and the handrail it rides
- Arrives as clean, isolated audio you download and sync from lock-in to landing in your edit

Ways to use a skateboard rail grind sound effect
Carry a slow-motion grind with no track
A long steel scrape holds a slowed-down trick on its own with no music, in a skate video, a game replay or an ad.

Put viewers at a city skate spot
Gritty ledge grinds tell the audience they are on the street with skaters nearby, in a short film, a game level or a podcast scene.

Let a trick land behind the camera
A grind running out into a clean landing tells the audience the trick was made, even when the shot stays on the crowd, in film, games and audio.

Preguntas frecuentes
What is a skateboard rail grind sound effect?
It is the scrape a skateboard makes when its metal trucks or wooden deck slide along a rail or ledge. It is the sound that tells viewers a trick is happening, and the contact sets its tone: trucks on steel ring, a wooden deck rasps and trucks on concrete sound gritty.
Where can I get skateboard rail grind sounds for a video?
Generate them from a prompt. Describing the grind you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact rail and trick your clip needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom skateboard rail grind sound effect?
Describe the contact, the surface and how the grind starts or ends, then generate it. A prompt like "a skateboard deck sliding sideways along a metal rail, a dry woody scrape" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a rail grind, a boardslide and a ledge grind?
A rail grind is the metal trucks on a metal rail, a harsh ringing scrape. A boardslide puts the wooden deck on the rail, so it sounds drier and woodier, while a ledge grind is trucks on concrete, coarser and grittier with less ring. Match the one your skater is doing.
Can I use these skateboard rail grind sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my rail grind not sit right in the edit?
Usually the grind is the wrong length or the wrong surface. A grind that starts before the board touches the rail, or keeps scraping after it leaves, looks dubbed straight away. Cut it to the contact you see, and match the tone to the contact: trucks on steel, the deck on a rail or trucks on concrete.
