What is a grab sound effect?
A grab sound is a hand taking hold of something fast: a sleeve, a shirt, a railing, a rope or an object snatched off a table. It is short and forceful, the slap of contact plus the creak or rustle of the grip, so it reads as intent.
Where can I get grab sounds for a video?
Write the grab into a prompt on Morphic and generate it. A sleeve or rope grab arrives faster than you could find one in a stock library, matched to your material. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom grab sound effect?
List the material, the force and anything that moves after the grip, then generate it. A prompt like "a hand slapping onto a steel railing and gripping, a loud hollow metal ring" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a grab, a catch and a pick-up sound?
A grab is fast and forceful, a hand seizing something that was not moving toward it. A catch stops something flying in, so it carries an impact first. A pick-up is calm and slow, the gentle handling of a prop with no urgency behind it.
Can I use these grab sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my grab sound not sit right in the edit?
The material often does not match the costume or the prop. A leather creak on a cotton shirt reads wrong, so generate the grab for the fabric or surface on screen. Put the slap on the frame the fingers close and keep the rustle after it short.
