Preguntas frecuentes

What makes a good drawing prompt?
A prompt works when it fixes one thing and leaves the rest open. A single noun is usually too vague to start on, while a full scene description leaves nothing to decide. Pairing two unrelated objects, or naming a subject plus one constraint such as a light direction or a medium, gives you enough to begin without deciding everything in advance.
How do I use a prompt drawing as reference rather than copying it?
Generate the subject first, then take from it only the things that are hard to invent: the angle of a limb, the way a fold turns, the shape of a cast shadow. Draw it yourself from there. The generated image is doing the job a photo reference does, not standing in for the drawing.
How do I use prompts to practise a specific weakness?
Constrain the prompt to the skill rather than the subject. If perspective is the weak point, ask for the same object at three different eye levels. If it is value, ask for one object lit hard from the side in chalk on dark paper. Repeating a constraint across varied subjects is what builds the skill.
How do I keep a daily prompt challenge from going stale?
Rotate the axes, not just the nouns. Change the medium one day, the crop the next, the light direction the day after. A month of pencil drawings of different animals teaches less than a month of one animal drawn in six mediums at six scales.
How do I get a plain background or a different crop?
Ask for a flat white background with no setting behind the subject, then crop on the Canvas to the frame you want. Recropping is often the fastest way to improve a prompt drawing, since moving in tighter turns a weak wide composition into a usable study.
Can I keep a whole prompt series in one style?
Use Style Transfer. Lock the look of your first drawing, then apply it as you generate each prompt so the line weight, tone and palette stay the same across the run. A thirty-day set read as one body of work is far more useful than thirty drawings that each look different.
