Preguntas frecuentes
How do I draw a lizard that looks anatomically right?
Set the spine as one long S-curve first, then hang the limbs off it so the elbows and knees point outward, not down like a dog. The tail should be at least as long as the body. Naming those three things fixes most of what goes wrong.
How do I draw lizard scales without drawing every one?
Ask for scale texture rendered in detail only along the back and the head, fading to plain tone on the belly and the legs. Illustrators handle it that way, and stating it stops the drawing turning into an even net pattern.
What is the easiest lizard to draw?
A gecko, because the body is one soft curve, the toes are simple round pads and the skin is smooth rather than heavily keeled. A basic outline with a dot eye already reads as a gecko.
How do I draw a lizard climbing a wall?
Show it from the side or from below, splay all four feet flat against the surface and keep the belly pressed close. Ask for a hard cast shadow under each foot so the lizard sits on the wall rather than floating in front of it.
Can I make a lizard drawing for a tattoo reference?
Yes. Ask for bold black line work, a clear silhouette and no background, since fine scale stippling closes up on skin. Adjust the line weight on the Canvas, then download the drawing in HD to take along.
Can I draw several lizard species in one style?
Use Style Transfer. Lock the look of the first drawing, then apply it as you generate a gecko, a chameleon, an iguana and a skink, so the line weight, scale treatment and palette stay the same across the set.
