Preguntas frecuentes

How do I draw reindeer antlers so they look right?
Antlers branch in a fixed order rather than at random. A main beam sweeps back and up from the skull, a brow tine juts forward over the face, and the beam then splits into a palm or fork near the top. Draw the two beams as a pair that mirror each other loosely, never identically, and keep them thickest at the base.
What makes a reindeer look different from a deer?
A heavier, blockier body, a shorter thicker neck with a mane of long hair hanging underneath, broad splayed hooves and a broader muzzle. Reindeer also carry much larger antlers relative to their head, and both sexes carry them, unlike most deer. Exaggerating the neck mane and the hoof width reads immediately.
How do I draw the winter coat?
Do not draw individual hairs across the whole body. Pick the two or three places the coat actually breaks the silhouette, the neck mane, the chest and the rump, and let the rest of the outline stay smooth. Short broken strokes along those edges and a lighter patch on the flank suggest thickness without clutter.
How do I draw a simple reindeer for a card or a child?
Reduce the body to two overlapping ovals, the legs to tapered lines and the head to a rounded wedge with a small dark nose. Keep the antlers to one fork each side rather than a full rack. Simplification works when the proportions stay honest, so keep the legs long and the muzzle long even in a soft cartoon.
How do I get a plain background for a reindeer drawing?
Ask for a flat white paper background with no snow, trees or setting around the animal, then crop it on the Canvas to the framing you want. A clean silhouette is what makes the drawing usable on a card, a gift tag or a repeating winter pattern.
Can I keep a set of winter drawings in one consistent style?
Use Style Transfer. Lock the look of the first drawing, then apply it as you generate the rest of the set so the line weight, fur treatment and palette stay the same across a reindeer, a tree and a snow scene. That consistency matters most on a card series, where the pieces are seen together.
