Flashbang sound effects

The pin, the bounce, the crack, and the long ringing that matters more than the bang. Describe how deaf you want the room to go afterwards and Morphic builds it.

  • Set the bang and the ringing separately, so the aftermath runs as long as your shot does
  • A blast cut for your scene, not the one clip every tactical edit online is already using
  • Download clean audio and drop it straight into your edit
Flashbang sound effects

Flashbangs for games, film, and animation

Detonation

A single sharp crack with an instant attack and almost no debris after it. Shorter and brighter than an explosion, which is what separates the two.

Pin and bounce

The pin clicking free and the canister bouncing twice before it settles. The two seconds of dread that make the bang land.

Ringing aftermath

A high thin tone with everything else stripped away. The sound the scene actually lives in, and the reason this page exists.

Muffled world

A dull low rumble with the top gone, as if the room is happening behind a wall. Layer it under the ringing and the deafness reads as physical.

Hearing returning

The ring thinning out while the room slowly comes back. Use it on the shot where the character stands up and the scene restarts.

Distant flashbang

The same crack heard through a wall, with the sharp edge gone and only the body left. For a blast that happens somewhere the camera is not.

Ways to use a flashbang sound effect

Punctuate the moment a room turns

The crack on the cut and the ringing straight after it changes the scene faster than a shot can. It is the same move in a game cutscene as on film.

Fill the silence after the blast

A ringing tone holds a long shot with no dialogue and no music, and the audience reads the emptiness as the character hearing nothing.

Tell the audience what a character can hear

Cutting the world down to a muffled rumble puts the audience inside one persons head without a line of dialogue explaining it.

Put the raid in the next room

A dull blast through a wall places an assault somewhere off screen, so a scene can stay on a face while the action happens elsewhere.

Preguntas frecuentes

What is the difference between a flashbang and an explosion sound?
Shape. An explosion has a low body and debris falling after it. A flashbang is a single sharp crack with almost nothing after it, and the part that carries the scene is the ringing that follows rather than the blast itself.
How do I get the ringing sound after the bang?
Generate it separately as a continuous high thin tone with everything else absent, then lay it under the shot. Asking one clip to do the bang and the ringing gives you a fixed length you cannot cut to.
How do I make the world sound muffled afterwards?
Ask for a low rumble with all high frequencies gone, dull and distant, with no speech and no impacts in it. Layered under the ringing, that pair is what reads as temporary deafness rather than as silence.
Why does my flashbang come back sounding like a bomb?
The prompt let the model add a body and debris. Say "almost no debris" and ask for an instant attack with a very short tail, since a flashbang is defined by how little comes after it.
How long should the ringing run?
As long as the shot it sits under, which is usually six to ten seconds. Generate it longer than you need and fade it out on your timeline, where you can match it to the moment hearing comes back.
Can I use this in a game or a monetised video?
Yes. Audio generated on a paid Morphic plan is cleared for commercial use, including games, monetised video, and broadcast.
