Punctuate a single stroke
One rasp on the frame the hand moves reads as a whole shave, which saves covering the action in a game cutscene as much as on film.

Razor sound effects
The dry rasp, the wet drag through foam, the rinse in the basin, an electric motor, and the strop before any of it. Describe the surface and Morphic builds the shave.
- Ask for the surface, dry stubble or wet foam, and the whole character of the sound changes with it
- Foley cut for your shot rather than a stock shave clip already under a hundred other scenes
- Download clean audio and drop it straight into your edit
Razor Foley for film, games, and animation
Dry rasp
Many tiny scrapes at once rather than one continuous noise. Describing it as a mass of small events is what stops it coming back as sandpaper.
Wet drag
Soft and muffled with a faint wet edge and no rasp at all. Foam removes the high end, which is the entire difference between the two shaves.
Short stroke
A quick clipped pass rather than a long one. Cut three of these together and the scene reads as somebody in a hurry.
Electric motor
A steady whirr with a fine rapid buzz under it. Runs unbroken, so you can lay it under a whole sequence rather than cutting per stroke.
Rinse in the basin
Two taps against ceramic and a swirl in shallow water. The punctuation between strokes, and what makes a shave read as a routine rather than a single action.
Strop
A long leather drag with a turn in the middle. Slower and broader than a shave, and it carries more menace than the blade itself does.

Ways to use a razor sound effect
Fill a quiet morning scene without music
An electric motor running under a bathroom scene gives it a floor, so a silent domestic moment does not need a track to hold it.

Tell the audience what kind of shave this is
A dry rasp reads as rushed and uncomfortable. A wet muffled drag reads as deliberate and unhurried. The surface sets the character before the picture does.
Editar prompt
Imply the blade you never show
A strop under a close-up of a face puts a straight razor in the room without the camera ever having to look at it.

Preguntas frecuentes
Why does my razor sound like sandpaper?
It was prompted as one continuous noise. A shave is a mass of tiny separate scrapes happening at once, so describe the unit first and the density second, which is what keeps it from flattening into an abrasive texture.
How do I get a wet shave rather than a dry one?
Take the high end away. Ask for a soft muffled scrape through thick wet foam with a faint wet edge and no rasp. Foam removes the top of the sound, and that absence is the whole cue.
What is the difference between this and scissors?
A razor is a blade dragged along a surface, so the sound is a scrape that lasts. Scissors are two blades crossing, so the sound is a snip that is over instantly. They live on separate pages because nothing transfers between them.
Why does my blade drag come back almost silent?
Blade drags are a low-energy physical event, and one model collapses that class toward silence no matter how the prompt is worded. Every drag on this page is generated on Seed Audio for exactly that reason.
How do I build a whole shaving sequence?
Alternate strokes and rinses. Three short strokes, a rinse, three more, and the scene reads as a routine rather than a single action, which is what a montage needs.
Can I use this in a commercial project?
Yes. Audio generated on a paid Morphic plan is cleared for commercial use, including advertising, film, and games.
