How do I draw a surfboard shape correctly?
Draw the centre stringer line first and mirror both rails off it, with the widest point slightly behind the middle. Boards drawn without that centre line almost always end up lopsided.
What is the difference between board shapes when drawing?
A shortboard is narrow with a pointed nose and a squash tail, a fish is wider with a split tail, and a longboard is long with a rounded nose. Naming one of those three in the prompt sets the whole outline.
How do I design artwork for the deck?
Draw the board flat from above with a blank deck first, then add the design in a second pass on the Canvas. Keeping the artwork inside the outline and letting it run off the tail looks more like a real spray job.
How do I draw the fins so they sit right?
Place the centre fin on the stringer line and the side fins mirrored close to the rails, all angled slightly toward the nose. Fins drawn perfectly parallel read as flat stickers.
How do I show the board is glossy?
Use one long soft highlight running down the deck and a harder one along the rail, and leave the rest of the surface plain. Scattering many small highlights makes the finish look dusty instead of glassy.
Can I use the drawing for a sticker or a print?
Yes. Ask for a flat top-down view on plain white with no shadow, cut the background on the Canvas, then download in HD. A clean outline holds up best when it is cut as a sticker or printed small.
