SSS
What is a bad sound effect?
It is the sound of something physically going wrong, such as a glass smashing, a car that will not start or a pipe bursting. It tells the audience that a plan or a day just turned bad, often for comic effect.
Where can I get bad sounds for a video?
Generate them from a prompt. Describing the mishap you need takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact take your scene needs. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom bad sound effect?
Describe the object, what goes wrong and how it ends, then generate it. A prompt like "a tall stack of cardboard boxes toppling over, four hollow thumps one after another" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a bad, a fail and a wrong sound effect?
A bad sound is a real object going wrong on screen, a smash, a stall or a leak. A fail sound is a cue that marks losing, often a falling tone or a deflating sound. A wrong sound is a buzzer or blip that marks a mistake, the kind used in quizzes and apps.
Can I use these bad sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my bad sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually it lands a few frames off. A smash or a pop has to hit on the exact frame of contact, or it reads as fake. Line up the sharpest part of the sound with the moment the object breaks, then let the tail run under the reaction.
