Questions fréquentes

How do I draw a flower pot step by step?
Draw the rim as a shallow ellipse first, then drop two tapering sides from it, then close the base with a narrower ellipse that curves the same way. Getting both ellipses to agree is what makes the pot look round instead of flat.
Why does my flower pot look lopsided?
Usually the top and bottom ellipses curve by different amounts. The lower one should look slightly rounder because you are seeing more of it. Ask for a consistent eye level in the prompt and the shape settles.
How do I draw a flower pot for a school project?
Keep the outline clean and the shading simple, and leave the background as plain paper so it photographs well when pasted into a file. A single pot with three or four clearly separated blooms reads better on a page than a crowded arrangement.
Can I get a flower pot drawing with a transparent background?
Ask for a plain white background with no table, no shadow and no surrounding leaves, then crop it on the Canvas. That leaves a clean silhouette you can cut out for a poster, a chart or a worksheet.
Which flowers are easiest to draw in a pot?
Marigolds, daisies and simple five-petal flowers, because the petal count is forgiving and the heads read from any angle. Avoid roses if you are working in line only, since they need tone to show the spiral.
How do I shade a terracotta pot?
Curve the hatching around the body instead of running it straight down, and keep a band of lighter tone about a third in from the lit edge. A thin reflected light along the shadow side stops the pot looking like a flat cone.
