Cheering sound effect

From one voice to a full room. Say how many people are cheering, how loud, and how long it holds, and Morphic builds it.

  • Say how many people are cheering and how hard they are going
  • A room sized to your scene rather than a stock crowd everyone shares
  • Clean audio you can place in your own space with your own reverb
Raised hands in a warm indoor crowd, faces blurred, one hard light picking out the front row

Cheers from one voice to a full room

Small room cheer

About ten people, indoors, close. The most useful size on the page, because it fits a real location rather than implying an arena you never shot.

Single cheer

One voice whooping on its own. A lone cheer reads as a specific person reacting, which a group never does however small you make it.

Building cheer

Starts quiet and swells to full. The change of state is what a flat cheer cannot carry, and it gives an editor somewhere to cut on the way up.

Cheer with applause

Voices with hands underneath them. The clapping fills the gaps between shouts, which is why this version sits comfortably under a speech.

Cheer dying away

A full room thinning out to a few last voices. The tail is where most stock cheers fail, because they simply stop rather than fade unevenly.

Delighted gasp and cheer

A sharp intake of breath from the room, then the cheer. That half-second of surprise before the noise is what sells a genuine reveal.

Ways to use a cheering sound effect

Punctuate a win or a reveal

A gasp followed by a cheer marks the moment twice: once with surprise, once with approval. It reads clearly even under a voiceover.

Fill a room that looks emptier than it should

A cheer with applause under it gives a sparse location a full house, in a game cutscene or an animated hall as much as on a live set.

Tell the audience the mood is turning

A cheer that builds from nothing charts a change across eight seconds. A flat one tells the audience where things ended but never how they got there.

Put people outside the frame

A cheer thinning to a few last voices implies a room emptying beyond the edge of the shot, without a single extra being hired or lit.

Questions fréquentes

How do I make a cheering sound effect?
Give the generator a group size and a timing instruction. Say how many people are cheering, that their voices overlap unevenly rather than in unison, and how long it runs. Group size is the single detail that decides whether it reads as a room or a stadium.
Why does my crowd cheer sound fake?
Because everyone starts at the same instant. Real groups never do, so ask explicitly for uneven, overlapping timing. That one phrase does more for believability than any amount of reverb added afterwards.
How many people should be cheering?
Match the number to what is on screen. Around ten voices reads as a room, fifty reads as a hall, and thousands reads as a stadium. A crowd larger than the location makes the audience feel the sound was borrowed from somewhere else.
Should the cheer have applause in it?
Add applause when the cheer has to sit under dialogue, and leave it out when it needs to land as a hit. Clapping fills the gaps between shouts, which makes the bed smoother but blunts the moment the cheer starts.
How do I end a cheer without it sounding cut off?
Ask for it to thin out to a few last voices rather than stopping. Most stock cheers end abruptly because they were trimmed, and an audience hears that edit immediately even when it cannot say why.
Can I use generated cheering commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Generating the crowd also avoids the recognisable stock cheer that turns up in hundreds of other productions.
