The moment the light hits the room
A hard yank on the rings lands the reveal, the second the curtains part in a film opening, a game cutscene or a hotel ad, the picture gets its push.

Curtain
Every way a curtain moves, ready to play: rings swishing across a rod, a soft fabric pull, a heavy velvet drag, and a shower curtain on its rail. Describe the one your scene needs and Morphic generates it in seconds.
- Pick the weight of the fabric, thin nylon rattling on rings, or heavy velvet dragging along the floor.
- Made for your scene, so the same curtain pull isn't already opening someone else's short film.
- Clean stereo takes with no room tone underneath, so they sit comfortably beneath dialogue.
Curtain sounds for animation, games, and video edits
Ring swish
Metal rings skating fast along a pole, the quick, decisive open for a character throwing the curtains back on a bright morning.
Soft pull
A gentle, unhurried close with almost no hardware noise, for night scenes where nobody wants to wake the house.
Velvet drag
Thick stage velvet sweeping across boards, weighty and low. Best where the moment should feel formal, theatrical or final.
Shower curtain
Plastic sliding on a thin rail with that hollow bathroom edge, instantly a small tiled room, tension optional.
Fabric rustle
Just cloth moving: a breeze catching a sheer panel, a hand brushing past. Small enough to layer under speech.
Rings across the pole
The full travel, one end of the pole to the other, rings clacking the whole way. Use it when the audience should hear the entire curtain move.

Ways to use a curtain sound effect
When a scene needs air between two lines
Two lines of dialogue that need breathing space can be bridged by a slow drag of fabric, useful in radio drama, podcasts and stage recordings alike.

Give the room a window and a morning
Heavy velvet and a rattling pole tell you which room you're in, a theatre, a motel, a childhood bedroom, before anyone on screen says a word.

Someone shuts themselves in, off camera
A shower curtain sliding shut off-frame puts a second person in the apartment, a trick that works as well in audio fiction as in horror shorts.

Questions fréquentes
What is a curtain sound effect?
It is the sound curtains make as they are drawn or brushed: rings swishing across a rod, fabric rustling, or a heavy drape dragging open. On screen it marks a small, human action and can set the room on its own, since a velvet drag and a light cotton pull say very different things about a space.
Where can I get a curtain sound for a video?
Generate one rather than search for it. Describing the pull you want takes less time than digging through a stock library, and you get the exact fabric and hardware your scene needs instead of the closest available clip. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so you can start from one and adjust it.
How do I make a custom curtain sound effect?
Describe the curtain, the weight of the fabric, and the hardware, then generate it. A prompt like "curtains drawn open, rings swishing across a rod with a soft fabric rush" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until the pull fits your cut.
What is the difference between a light and a heavy curtain sound?
A light cotton curtain glides on a soft rustle and swish, while a heavy velvet one drags with a dense low whoosh and a slow scrape. Picking the wrong one is the most common reason a curtain feels off, because the ear expects the weight of the cloth it can see to match the sound it hears.
Can I use these curtain sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated rather than pulled from a shared library, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my curtain sound not sit right in the edit?
Usually the weight of the fabric is wrong rather than the timing. A light cotton swish laid under a shot of heavy drapes reads as fake, because the ear expects the mass of the cloth to match what it sees. Say the fabric and the hardware when you generate it, and the pull sits in the scene with far less mixing.
