Rain crossing a valley

A long lens holds on a grey curtain of rain dragging across a wide valley while the far side of the frame stays dry.

Headlights on a wet road

Unmarked vehicles approach along a wet road at dusk, their beams opening into visible cones through the rain as the tarmac throws the light back.

An empty square in the rain

A high wide on an empty paved square in heavy rain, a lone distant figure crossing while the stone holds a sheet of reflected sky.

Questions fréquentes

Where can I make rain stock footage with AI?
You can generate it in your browser on Morphic. Open the Text to Video tool, describe the scene, how far away the weather is and what is lighting the rain, and the shot renders in minutes. Setting the distance yourself is the point, since that is the thing a library search cannot filter on.
Which rain shots render most reliably?
Weather at middle and long distance is the most reliable: a squall crossing a valley, beams cutting through a downpour, spray bouncing off a flat surface. Crowds of people with umbrellas are the hardest, because the canopies merge. Cover a mood with a wide, a backlit detail and a clearing shot rather than one busy street frame.
How do I make the rain actually visible in a wide shot?
Put something bright behind it. Rain only reads when it crosses a light source or a dark field, so ask for headlight cones, a low sun band, a hard backlight or a dark treeline behind the fall. Add wet ground as well, since reflections and spray do more to sell weather at distance than the drops themselves.
Do I need permits or a rain rig for generated weather footage?
No. There is no location to permit, no rain tower to hire and no crew standing in the wet, because nothing was physically staged. Keep the streets anonymous, the vehicles unmarked and any figures distant and unnamed, and the clip stays clean for commercial use.
How is this different from rain clips from a stock library?
A library clip comes at a fixed distance, a fixed density and a fixed hour, and if the weather sits too far back it disappears in the grade. Generating means the distance, the backlight and the duration are written to match the shots already on your timeline, in the ratio the project is cut in.
