How do I draw a pie?
Start with an ellipse for the top of the dish, then drop the sides down and close them with a smaller curve for the base. Add the crimped edge as a ring of small bumps and the crust details last.

Lay parallel strips in one direction, then weave the second set across them, passing over and under in turn. Shade the strip that sits underneath at each crossing.
How do I draw a pie slice?
