How do I draw a foot for beginners?
Block it as a wedge first: a triangle from the heel to the ball, a ball shape across the front, and the toes added last as a row that steps down in size. Ask for the construction shapes to stay visible while you learn the proportions.
Why do my feet look flat?
Usually the arch is missing. The inside edge lifts off the ground while the outside edge stays down, so say that in the prompt. Adding the ankle bone, which sits higher on the inside than the outside, fixes most of the rest.
How do I draw a foot from the front?
It is a foreshortening problem, not a foot problem. Ask for the length compressed, the toes overlapping and stepping down in size, and the ankle sitting high in the shape. Expect the drawing to look too short before it looks correct.
How do I draw toes so they do not look like sausages?
Give each one a joint and a direction. Ask for the big toe angled slightly inward, the smaller toes curling down and tucking behind each other, and creases marked at the knuckles. The nail plane tilting upward finishes it.
How do I draw feet in shoes?
Draw the foot shape first and treat the shoe as a shell over it. Say which part is soft and which is stiff, so a canvas upper creasing at the ball and a rigid sole holding its edge, and the shoe sits on the foot correctly.
Can I get a flat footprint for an icon or a logo?
Yes. Ask for flat vector art, a solid sole shape with separated toe ovals, no shading and a plain white background, then crop it on the Canvas. That version holds up at small sizes.
