Introducing Inpainting and Outpainting

Any story can transform at any moment—characters can emerge or fade away, plotlines can twist unexpectedly, and entirely new dimensions can unfold. And with Morphic Studio, so can your frames now.

Introducing Inpainting and Outpainting to help you change and create new dimensions of your frames on Morphic Studio.

Inpainting: Precision-Driven Modification

Imagine being able to seamlessly modify specific areas of an image without affecting its overall integrity. Inpainting allows you to do just that. By selecting a region within a frame and providing a prompt, you can add, remove, or alter elements effortlessly on Morphic Studio now. Whether it's introducing a new character into a scene or transforming a prop—like changing a sword into a gun or changing the color of your character's hat—Inpainting ensures that the modifications blend naturally with the existing content.

To use Inpainting, select your frame and use the Region Selection tool from the prompt bar to select the area to make changes to. On the new prompt bar dedicated to the selected region, enter your prompt, press Generate, and watch the Inpainting feature work its magic.

Animators can fine-tune characters or adjust props and settings without redrawing entire scenes, ensuring creative fluidity. Game developers can reimagine environments or character designs on the fly, adding depth and richness to gameplay. All of these without compromising the original artistic intent. Inpainting allows creators to iterate faster, adapt seamlessly, and craft stories with greater precision and impact.

Outpainting: Redefining Creative Boundaries

While Inpainting excels in modification, Outpainting thrives in expansion. Stories often demand more than what’s visible—a world beyond the frame, a continuation of the narrative. Outpainting makes this possible. It enables creators to extend the spatial boundaries of a frame, generating new content that blends seamlessly with the existing content of the frame.

Outpainting enables seamless transitions between formats, from standard aspect ratios to cinematic widescreens or promotional compositions, without compromising the coherence of the visual narrative. A close-up portrait can evolve into a panoramic vista, where every new element contributes meaningfully to the original close-up.

Inpainting on Morphic Studio is now available, Outpainting arrives later this month. With Inpainting and Outpainting, the possibilities are endless. Literally.
