Häufig gestellte Fragen

How do I draw a graduation cap so the board looks square?
Draw the board as a flat square in perspective before you add the crown. Both pairs of opposite edges should converge very slightly, and the far edge should be shorter than the near one. Most wonky caps come from drawing a diamond freehand and hoping it reads as a square.
Where does the tassel attach?
To a button at the exact centre of the board, not at a corner. It falls from there, drapes over one edge and hangs straight down under gravity, so the cord always shows a short run across the board before it drops.
How do I draw the tassel strands without drawing every thread?
Draw the outer silhouette of the bundle first, then put in six or eight strands that separate at the bottom and leave the rest as tone. Vary the lengths slightly. A fully rendered tassel reads as a brush, while a suggested one reads as hanging thread.
What angle is best for a graduation card?
A three-quarter tilt. It shows the square of the board and the depth of the crown at once, and it leaves natural white space under the tassel for a name or a date. Flat-on views read as icons and work better small.
How do I get a transparent-looking background or a tighter crop?
Ask for a flat white background with nothing else in the frame, then crop it on the Canvas so the board fills the edges. A clean silhouette on white is what you need before placing the cap into an invitation layout or a printed programme.
Can I keep a set of graduation drawings in one style?
Use Style Transfer. Lock the look of the first cap, then apply it as you generate the diploma, the gown and the sash so the line weight and palette match. That consistency is what makes a card, a banner and a table sign look like one set.
