Häufig gestellte Fragen
What is a slash sound effect?
It is the sound of a blade cutting through air, then hitting something: a swish, a rip or a thud. It conveys speed and force.
Where can I get slash sounds for a game?
Describe the blade and the target and generate it. That is quicker than combing through sword packs, and each cue here came from the prompt printed beside it.
How do I make a custom slash sound effect?
Name the blade, the target and the count. A prompt such as "three fast blade swishes in a row, each a thin whip of air" gives Morphic the rhythm, and you can change it to suit the fight.
What is the difference between a swish and a slash hit?
A swish is air only, thin and rising, so it shows the swing. A hit adds an impact on a target, such as cloth, wood or armor. Layer the swish before the hit for realism.
Can I use these slash sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. The prompts name no weapon brand or franchise, so the cues are generic.
Why does my slash sound weak in the edit?
A slash needs a sharp start and a clean cut-off. Line the swish up a few frames before the hit and ask for a thin, fast sound so it does not smear.
