Draw a DNA helix and finish it in your browser

Describe the DNA drawing you want in Morphic's Image tool, from a labelled double helix study to a stripped-back icon for a slide, and get a finished image back. Set the twist, the base-pair spacing, the line weight and the paper, adjust it on the Canvas, then download it in HD.

DNA vector strip for a slide

A long horizontal helix laid across the frame as flat vector line with generous white space above and below, sized for a slide header or a banner.

Preguntas frecuentes

How do I draw a DNA double helix so the twist looks right?
Draw two parallel wavy lines a half cycle out of step with each other, then join them with rungs. The rungs shorten as the strands cross and widen again as they separate. Rungs of equal length are the single most common mistake.
How many turns should a DNA drawing show?
Two or three full turns is enough to read as a helix without crowding the page. One turn looks like a ribbon, and more than four turns squeezes the rungs until they merge into a solid band at small sizes.
How do I show which strand is in front?
Break the line of the rear strand where the front one crosses it and darken the rear strand slightly. That single overlap cue does more for the three-dimensional read than any amount of shading.
Can I get a DNA icon or vector for a slide?
Ask for flat vector line art with an even stroke, no shading and a plain white background, and keep it to two ribbons and a handful of rungs. That version stays legible when it is scaled down into a slide or a logo slot.
Can I add labels to a DNA drawing?
Generate the drawing with blank callout lines and set the wording yourself in your layout tool. Typesetting labels outside the image keeps the text sharp, correctable and easy to translate later.
How do I make a DNA drawing look scientific rather than decorative?
Keep the base-pair spacing even, the backbone width constant and the palette restrained. Glowing gradients, floating particles and uneven rungs push it toward stock decoration, which is exactly what most search results already give you.
