Questions fréquentes

How do I draw a cupcake that looks like a cupcake and not a muffin?
The paper case does it. A cupcake sits in a pleated case with a straight flared side and a visible rim, and the icing is a separate shape piped on top that overhangs that rim. A muffin has a domed top that spills over a plain case with no piped swirl, so keeping the case pleats and the icing overhang reads correctly straight away.
How do I draw an icing swirl?
Draw it as a stacked spiral, not a squiggle. Start with a widest ring at the base, then each loop above it slightly smaller and set back, ending in a small peak that tips to one side. Keep the underside of each loop darker so the rings read as separate ribbons of icing rather than a flat cone.
How do I draw the pleated paper case?
Rule the side lines first so the case flares evenly, then space the pleats across the front and let them get closer together toward the edges. That compression is what makes the case look round. Each pleat is one line with a thin shadow beside it, not two parallel lines.
What is an easy way to draw a cupcake for a card or a menu?
Ask for even line weight, no shading and a flat white background. A clean contour cupcake sits well in a layout, prints sharply at small sizes and can take a flat colour fill later. Save the tonal rendering for a piece that stands alone.
How do I get a plain background so I can drop the cupcake into a layout?
Ask for a flat white background with no table or setting around it, then crop tight on the Canvas. Keeping the silhouette clean makes it far easier to place into a menu, a birthday card or a repeating pattern.
Can I draw a whole set of bakery items in one consistent style?
Use Style Transfer. Lock the look of the first cupcake, then apply it while you generate the donut, the slice of cake and the cookie so the line weight, icing treatment and palette match. That is what makes a menu illustration set or a shop sign look like one hand made it.
