Catch

A catch as a baseball pops into a leather glove, a basketball slapping into bare palms and keys caught midair. Describe the catch you need and Morphic generates it, from a chest catch to an arcade claw closing.

  • Glove pops, palm slaps or keys caught midair, the exact catch you describe
  • Caught for your backyard game of catch between a father and his son
  • Snaps onto the frame the ball hits the hands, isolated and ready to download

Ways to use a catch sound effect

Make the ball land in the glove on cue

One glove pop on the frame the ball arrives gives a throw its payoff, in a sports film, a baseball game or an animated short.

Questions fréquentes

What is a catch sound effect?
A catch sound is the moment something flying is stopped and held: a baseball into a glove, a ball slapping into palms, keys caught in a fist, a fish in a net or an arcade claw closing. The sound is the contact plus the grip, so the audience knows the catch held.
Where can I get catch sounds for a video?
Tell Morphic what is caught and how, and generate it. You get the glove pop or palm slap your shot needs without digging through stock clips. Every sound on this page was made from the prompt printed beside it, so start from one and change it.
How do I make a custom catch sound effect?
Say what is caught, the catching surface and the grip, then generate it. A prompt like "a basketball caught in two bare hands, a loud sharp slap of rubber on palms" gives Morphic enough to work with, and you can adjust the wording until it fits the shot.
What is the difference between a glove catch, a bare hand catch and a net catch?
A glove catch is a deep leather pop with a creak, padded and round. A bare hand catch is a sharper slap of skin on the ball. A net catch is softer and longer, a swish and stretch of mesh, often with water if it is a fish.
Can I use these catch sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. Because each sound is generated for you, you also avoid the clip turning up in someone else's video.
Why does my catch sound not sit right in the edit?
The pop is often a frame early, before the ball reaches the hands. Put the impact on the first frame of contact and let the grip creak play just after. In wide shots, lower the level so the catch matches the camera distance.
