Mark a failed attempt with a clear buzz
A harsh pair of blats on the frame it fails tells the viewer no without a word, in a game, an app demo or a heist scene.

Negative sounds for games, animation, and video edits
Error buzz
Two flat low electronic blats in a quick pair with a harsh edge, then silence, the plain sound of no.
Access denied
Three electronic beeps, each lower and harsher than the last, for a door, a login or a gate that refuses.
Rejected input
A dull low thunk then one flat blip, abrupt and dry, for a field or a command that is not accepted.
Failure jingle
Four falling synthesized notes sliding downward with a wobble on the last, the try-again cue of a game.
Declined alert
A low double-tap buzz ending on a hollow click, for a card refused or a request turned down.
Locked control
A button pressed three times, each with a blunt low tone and a dry rattle, the control that will not move.

Ways to use a negative sound effect
Give a form screen recording some feedback
A dull thunk on each rejected field fills a silent walkthrough with no music, in a tutorial, a product video or a UX case study.

Show a system turning someone away
Falling beeps establish a locked system at once, in a sci-fi corridor, a spy film or a security game.
Modifier le prompt
Reveal a refusal that happens off screen
A declined alert from the next monitor implies a failure the camera never shows, in a thriller, a comedy or an audio drama.

Questions fréquentes
What is a negative sound effect?
It is the cue an interface plays to say no: an error buzz, a denial tone, a failure jingle. It is usually low, flat or falling so the ear reads refusal before the eyes find the message.
Where can I get negative sounds for a video or app?
Describe the refusal and generate it. A bespoke buzz also avoids the clip everyone recognises from the same few stock error packs.
How do I make a custom error or denial sound?
Say what failed, then the tone and the shape: two flat low blats, or three descending beeps. A harsh edge makes it read as a rejection rather than a notice.
What is the difference between a negative sound and an error sound?
A negative sound is the whole family of refusals, including denials, failures and declines. An error sound is the specific warning that something went wrong in a system. Many pages use an error buzz as one negative cue among several.
Can I use these negative sounds commercially?
Yes, audio generated on paid plans can be used commercially. See our terms for full licensing details. This includes use in an app or a game you plan to ship.
Why does my negative sound feel mild?
Mildness comes from soft attack and rising pitch. Ask for a flat or falling tone with a harsh edge and a hard cut-off, and add a second pulse to make the refusal feel firm.
