How do I draw a balloon so it looks inflated?
Draw a pear, not a circle. The widest point sits above the middle and the shape narrows to the neck. One soft oval highlight off centre plus a darker crescent on the far side finishes the volume.

A string should curl loosely and change direction at least twice, and it should be thinner and lighter than the balloon outline. A straight line reads as tethered, a curled one reads as drifting.
