How do I draw a banana that does not look like a crescent?
A banana is a ridged solid, not a curved line. Block in the long tapering body first, then mark the two or three facet edges that run down its length. Those ridges are what give the fruit volume, and squaring off the stem end stops the whole shape reading as a moon.
How do I draw a peeled banana?
Draw the flesh first as a narrower, straighter form than the whole fruit, then attach the peel strips to it at the stem. Let each strip curl at a slightly different angle and keep the inner face of the peel lighter than the outer, since it catches more light.
How do I show ripeness in a drawing?
Ripeness is mostly texture and edge quality. A green banana has crisp ridges and a firm silhouette, a ripe one softens at the corners, and an overripe one carries irregular bruise patches with blurred boundaries. Ask for the stage you want rather than just a colour.
