How do I draw a cell that reads clearly as a diagram?
Keep the organelles separated by visible gaps of blank paper and vary their shapes rather than their sizes. A diagram fails when everything inside the membrane touches, so place the nucleus first, off centre, then distribute the rest around it and leave the space between them open.
What is the difference when drawing a plant cell?
A plant cell is boxy rather than round, and the wall is drawn as a double line outside the membrane. Give it one large central vacuole that pushes everything else to the edges, and add chloroplasts as small ovals. Those three changes are what separate it from an animal cell at a glance.
How do I draw organelles without copying a textbook?
Work from the function rather than a remembered picture. Mitochondria are elongated with a folded inner line, the rough network is a stack of curved sheets studded with dots, and the smooth network is the same stack without them. Describing the structure in words gets you an original drawing that is still accurate.
How do I draw a cutaway so it looks three dimensional?
Cut the near face away along a curve, not a straight line, and give the cut edge a visible thickness. Shade the inside of that rim darkest, then lighten as the interior wall curves away. The organelles inside should overlap each other so the eye reads depth rather than a flat circle.
How do I get blank labels or a plain background?
