How do I get pose reference at a specific angle?
Say where the camera is and where the figure faces, such as an eye-level view of a figure turned three quarters away. Naming both separately gives a more reliable result than describing the pose alone.
Can I get several poses on one sheet?
Yes. Ask for a study page with a stated number of poses arranged in a row or a grid. Keeping the count plain and the background flat makes the sheet easy to work from.
How do I get the same pose from multiple sides?
Ask for one pose drawn from the front, side, back and three quarters in a grid. You can also lock the figure with the Character Lineup workflow and then change only the viewing angle.
What lighting helps most when drawing from a pose?
A single strong light from one side shows form clearly, since it separates the lit planes from the shadow side. Flat even light is easier for proportion work and harder for tonal work.
Can I get poses with construction lines to practise proportion?
Yes. Ask for a block-in where the figure is reduced to boxes and cylinders with joint circles showing. That version is useful next to the finished drawing when you are checking your own proportions.
How do I handle hands in a pose reference?
State the count plainly, such as five fingers on each hand, and say what the hands are doing. If the hands are not the point, choose a pose where they rest out of frame or behind the body.
