How do I draw a fist that does not look flat?
Block it as a box before you draw fingers. The back of the hand is one plane, the folded fingers are a second plane angled away, and the thumb crosses the front. Ask for those planes and the volume appears on its own.
Why do the knuckles look wrong in my drawing?
The knuckles do not sit in a straight line. They arc, with the index knuckle lower and the middle one highest. Ask for the knuckle line drawn as an arc and for the fingers to shorten toward the little finger.
How do I draw a fist coming toward the viewer?
Say foreshortened explicitly. Ask for the knuckles large and close, the forearm compressed almost to nothing behind them and the fingers barely visible. Without the word foreshortened you will get a side view.
How do I draw the thumb on a clenched fist?
The thumb wraps outside the folded fingers and rests across the second joint of the index and middle finger, never tucked inside. Naming that placement fixes the most common error in fist drawings.
Can I get a plain fist silhouette for a print or a sticker?
Ask for a flat solid silhouette with no interior line and a white background, then crop it on the Canvas. That version stays readable when it is scaled down and is easy to cut as a stencil.
Can I get the same fist from several angles?
