How do I draw a flame that looks like it is moving?
Never draw the tongues the same height or leaning the same way. Ask for one tall tongue, two short ones and a slight lean, as though a draught is pulling at them. Symmetry is what makes a flame look like a logo instead of a fire.
How do I draw the bright part in the middle of a flame?
Leave it. The hottest part of a flame is the palest, so ask for the core to stay as untouched paper and build tone around it. If you shade the middle you lose the only thing that reads as light.
How do I make a flame icon or a flame vector?
Ask for flat vector line art, three tongues, one flat colour, even edges, no gradient and no shading, on a plain white background. Check it still reads once you shrink it on the Canvas, since small sizes lose thin tips first.
