How do I get a drawing that looks like a real child made it?
Ask for the imperfections by name: wobbly uneven lines, patchy fill that misses the outline, figures at different scales, and a flat sky strip rather than a full sky. Those traits are what make the drawing read as genuine rather than styled.
What should a kid draw first?
Subjects built from circles, triangles and straight lines, so a house, a cat, a fish, a rocket or a tree. Ask for the drawing in one thick even outline with no shading, which is the easiest thing for a small hand to follow.
Can I turn a kid drawing into a colouring page?
Yes. Ask for bold black outlines only, no shading and wide open shapes, then download it in HD and print it at A4. Keeping the line thick stops it breaking up when a child colours over it.
How do I keep it age appropriate?
