How do I draw a meteor trail so it looks fast?
Make the head dense and short and let the trail thin, spread and break apart behind it. A trail of even width reads as a line, not motion. Adding two or three small sparks that fall away from the head sells the speed.
What is the difference between a meteor and a shooting star drawing?
A shooting star is usually drawn as a symbol with a star shape at the front. A meteor is drawn as a rough rock or a burning head with a physical trail, so it suits tonal and realistic work far better.
How do I draw a meteor shower?
Every trail should point back to the same spot in the sky, and they should vary in length and brightness. Draw two or three long and bright, the rest short and faint, so the sky does not turn into a grid.
How do I draw a bright object on dark paper?
Work light on dark instead of trying to leave gaps. White chalk or a lifted eraser highlight on charcoal gives a cleaner glow than outlining the shape and filling around it.
What should go under the meteor for scale?
